GDT: 7/29/14....Braves (Harang) vs. Rich Boy Dodgers (Beckett)...10:10 pm EST

Stupid me for getting excited when I checked the score about an hour ago and saw we were up 4-2. Get home, check the score again, and we're down 7-4.

The Braves let this one get away, they had numerous chances to clobber Beckett and didn't do it, and now suddenly the Dodgers are hitting everything. This series has sweep written all over it, with Greinke and Kershaw due next.

I'm afraid so. Plus pitching to you know who every time was stupid...

Yep. If we were going to for sure win one, this was going to be it. Not gonna completely count us out in the next two, but we had a golden opportunity to take game one and just blew it.

So was Harang's HR he gave up.

I mean what can you do though? They literally have fckn All Star after fckn All Star in this lineup from top to bottom...When they are hitting like that, there is NOTHING that any pitcher can do...

First of all, **** the Dodgers.

Second of all, this is a perfect example of why we need to quit pissing around and go out and get some actual pitching. If we're looking for relievers, get the best out there.

And third, this is what a real offense looks like.

Really, we're just getting beat tonight, and a club that's better on paper. It sucks, but it is what it is. No histrionics, no goats, no Fredi madness. Just getting beat.

Did Mattingly not figure out, Pena was going to be the pinch hitter, so why not just begin the inning with Howell, instead of starting with League and then take him out.

And the difference between the two teams is the Dodgers had no trouble coming back from down 2. The Braves aren't going to sniff a run for the rest of the night.

We need a LHP, and maybe another RHP if Simmons can't come back. Varvarro is good. That was a good pitch. He deserved better that inning.

Varvaro has been solid all year. He's a little out of his depth, maybe. We've been spoiled by the 'pen depth we've had the last few years.

Can't find anything to disagree about.

I hate it, but the Dodgers ownership has put together one heck of a team. They are likely going to start putting the rest of the N.L. West further behind in their rear-view mirror. The Giants are a shell of what they were earlier in the season. Especially with the potential of Cain having a serious injury.
