GDT 7/30 Miami at Atlanta

There’s obviously the occasional mutant weirdo like Chipper or Eddie Murray, but my POV is that no one should be encouraged to switch-hit.

What we don’t know is if he’s just not good batting left-handed, or he actually doesn’t see righties well, or both.

Hard to say. His OPS from the left side has jumped from the low .600s to the low .700s in just one year and BABIP isn't a factor in that. He could possibly keep improving his weak side or may not. If GG is correct it's possible that he could drop the left side altogether.

We gotta quit letting Marlins leadoff hitters reach base.

EDIT: Unless of course the next batter grounds into a double play on the first pitch.

Actually it is not so hard to pick up. I had both my sons switch hit from age 5 or 6 and pretty quickly they were about equally good from either side. Of course neither approached Chipper or Murray.

The braintrust in the booth routinely pimps guys with poor stuff that “know how to pitch”.

Now they are mystified over how a guy with great stuff like Eovaldi gets hit around.

They can’t even keep their moronic point of view straight.
