GDT 7/4/21: Fish @ Braves - Arcia’s Braves Debut

If the Braves make the playoffs I don’t think Norton can be allowed to throw more than 75 pitches or face anyone 3x under any high leverage scenario.

They won't make it without a couple significant additions. The team is just mediocre. The stats, record, and run differential all say the same thing.

Rojas is Morton’s last batter, played perfectly by Snit. It still didn’t work out for the team.

It’s been a series of bad breaks all season. Every bad move bites the team, and even the good moves tend to not work out.

And we have a terrible manager and a GM that's scared to make a big trade.

I think once TDA comes back all they need is a legit bat like Marte and a reliable RHP for the BP. Then they need their **** luck to change, and for Snit to deploy players correctly.

Snit won't so they need the extra talent to overcome it like in previous seasons.

I understand why they do the shift, ye almighty. Seems other teams get lucky against us more than we do against them.

It could also be the Braves shift too much, especially vs RHH. I loved the statcast broadcast ESPN did a couple months ago. They showed the grounder spray chart for every batter and it was obvious why they shifted on guys.

AA will offer Kyle Wright, Alex Jackson, and some rookie league pitcher. He's scared to death to take a chance

I would also love to see guys start pinching hits the other way often enough vs the shift that it goes away naturally.

Can someone explain to me the reasoning behind Snit consistently leaving our pitchers in too long ? There has to be a legitimate reason he does this .... maybe he just wants to get fired

I thought Morton was showing warning signs today and was cringing at leaving him in for the heart of the order, but I will patiently await a name for anyone you all feel confident bringing in the sixth there. Minter looked good when the damage was long done. They need most of the other decent ones for later. Again, it matters **** all because this team can’t score unless it’s a home run in the fifth inning or before, and, unfortunately for this collectively incompetent team, home runs don’t count for six runs each.

He simply doesn’t understand modern pitcher usage. He’s a dinosaur who thinks all SPs should throw 100 pitches, and that’s that. He doesn’t have a clue how to use BP arms in any manner other than the old school way of 1 inning per guy, working backwards from the “closer”.

The Braves need a new manager to be consistently competitive with a true talent 90 win roster.

Riley is getting really good at weak ground balls. He should come give fielding practice for my nephew's team
