Hoping Snit employs that Rosario/Duvall platoon strictly.
Is Duvy healthy?

Rosey doesn't need to play against a lefty.. Olson could DH or just have a day off and I don't mind Harris playing...I like him getting reps aginast a lefty.
I could really see the Mets giving Scherzer an extra day of rest, so he would start against the Braves instead of the Marlins.
On the other hand, I'm glad Ian is starting Sunday vs. Washington instead of being in line for the Mets series.
Matzek’s stuff is still down. As it is, he can’t pitch high leverage innings.
I really hope he just needs to build it back up but his FB velocity was sitting around 92-94 yesterday instead of the normal 96-98 that can touch 99.

The Mets are actually scheduled to face Alcantara on Sunday. So it's not like that game will be an easy one for them either way.
Jesus, that is a brutal stretch of pitchers they have to navigate.
I think the writing is on the wall that playoffs are a near certainty.
Its should all be about putting the best playoff roster on the field. While I really want to start Strider in the postseason I think him reaching an innings limit will help the Braves in that you won't need any additional bullpen acquisition.
That basically leaves one area and one area alone to improve this team and thats LF/Bench off the bat. I personally believe that both Rosario/Duvall will play a more than adequate LF so its all about the bench bat to improve on over Heredia since Duvall can play CF in a pinch.
I have a feeling that AA has a quiet deadline but gets the best bat available that doesn't require an everyday fielding position.
Fangraphs have the Braves playoff probability at 95.8% which sounds about right. The division is a toss-up. With that being said. Winning the division virtually guarantees a first-round bye which would be huge.

Another high-end bullpen arm with the ability to close and the extra bat are 1A and 1B for me at the moment. What looks settled now may not be settled in four weeks.
Jansen
Minter
Matzek
Strider
Mcugh
Smith
Yates
O-day
I don't see where we have room for another bullpen arm. I think he will grab a guy like you suggest but I just don't see where he fits in and I hope we don't give up a significant asset for one.
always room.. but I might have kept Chavez over O'day or go get another pen guy and drop both.

The challenge with adding those two pieces is, how are you going to fit them onto the roster, especially when the team is back at full health? We'd essentially have to DFA O'Day and either DuVall/Heredia.
Of course injuries always happen and this could all resolve itself.
Heredia is an easy decision. I just don't see how the pen is upgraded through the trade market. We have too many guys as is....
