I would be more than happy with a 4.8 era for Fried. 6 innings 3 runs is a 4.5 era and we could win a lot of games with those kinds of starts.

They're simply sitting on Fried's straight fastballs. That wasn't even in the zone, but a straight fastball is very easy to hit. For the record, he had a very, very shaky start vs the Marlins tbh last time too.

Dude really needs to revisit the 2-seamer.

Fried finally got a shutdown inning but he threw a fastball 1-2 down the middle again on the out. Thankfully it was still an out, but with a free swinger like him who has power he is lucky to get away with that. If you throw an off speed outside he is apt to chase as we saw last night.
