I can absolutely see BJ, CJ, and Simmons continue to be this bad all year. That leaves Heyard, Gattis, Freeman, JUP, and La Stella to carry the offense. That's a lot to ask imo with a handicap of 3 brutal hitters.

4 great hitters and one solid hitter will get you by, even with 3 SVODS in the lineup.

Sure. But I don't know if I would consider all of Heyward, Freeman, JUP, and Gattis to be great. For the first 3 they have have stretches where they are great and then stretches where they are poo. If two of them are on a roll at the same time then yeah we can score runs as it's been shown this year at times. But that hasn't happened that often.

But, when you have that many good hitters, chances are that a couple of them will be hot together at different times. Of course, all of them have to stay healthy...

I'm not really disagreeing with the points that you're making, but I'm just not ready to concede that we truly have a mediocre team just yet.

My thoughts exactly. The offense hasn't been fantastic, but a huge part of the struggles have been the BP. Though I love what we've got coming into the pen lately!
