Duvall did sort of donk up that play on Hoskins’ single: came at it at a weird angle, then airmailed the throw to third. Should have been the first out.
 
Ironic thing is that’s one of the best stretches of control Newk has had early, and the results didn’t reflect it.

I wouldn’t mind if the announcers would stop talking about Newk at 93-95 as if it were anything special though. That’s pretty standard velocity in 2020.
 
Of course Chip thinks Duvall is a hot hitter. Chip obviously doesn’t know all Duvall’s damage has been done vs LHP.

Fully agreed.

He gets good movement on his slider/curveball, but Chip and Co. act as if he's prime Jon Lester.
 
I think not playing Ender has probably been blessed, considering that I've seen it rumored that it was not Snitker's decision to start Keuchel game 1 of the NLDS, and he's been using Nick correctly so far. It's likely his decision here to not play Ender, but if the organization had any problems with it, I'd figure they'd have already stopped it.

The only thing that would be confusing here is if you're choosing to not play Ender, why not try Pache. Maybe that time will come soon though.

I can't imagine Newcomb's leash is going to be much longer either.
