I'm not going to provide more "holy hell that was the worst thing ever" about tonight's loss. That's been covered in full here. It was a horrible loss. The worst of the year.

The part that is concerning to me in regards to a possible second half collapse is this...

Going back to the Royals series, which spans our last 18 games, we've played three series against teams currently below .500. Two of those teams are among the five worst teams in baseball. In those three series -- series against teams below .500 -- we are 3-6. That's inexcusable.

Hopefully, on October 1st, we won't be regretting going 3-6 in those 9 games instead of 6-3 or 7-2.

Whoever has the best platoon matchup vs the batters due to hit.

This idea of naming a 9th inning guy has to stop. It’s moronic. These arms need to be deployed based on matchups.

A win tomorrow will kill the Nats for a second time this year.

What a stupid day in this boards history that was. Bunch of morons claiming the Nats were dead in June, and are now pissing their diapers when the Braves go 5-5.

Do these people ever get tired of being wrong?
 
I'd rather get beat by singles than a bunch of walks.

I think our relievers are fine as long as they stay confident. The three new guys are veterans having an unlucky stretch. Means nothing.

Soroka would pitch a complete game if the team was in the WC. That said we are the division so that problem won't be an issue.

June 10th: tied with Phillies - 6 game lead over Nats
July 10th: 6 game lead over Nats
August 10th: 6.5 game lead over Nats

I'm still waiting on that big Nats push
