9. Johan Camargo (S) 2B

When Albies gets healthy enough to replace Riley, this is going to be a pretty stout lineup vs LHP.

Good on Snit getting TDA some PAs vs a LHP as DH.

Now let's hope he doesn't fall into the trap of leavng Touki in 3-4 batter too long, even if he's "cruising".

Yankees:

DJL (R)
Judge (R)
Hicks (S, though better as LHH)
Voit (R)
Torres (R)
Ford (L)
Urshela (R)
Sanchez (R)
Gardner (L)

So the plan should be:

- Allow Touki to spin the order once, unless it's a 5-4 game after 2 innings at which point he may not face Gardner even once.
- If pitch count is ~50ish, allow him to face DJ and Judge a 2nd time.
- Be ready to flip Hicks around in a high leverage spot, leave Touki in otherwise.
- If Touki is allowed to face Hicks, he is the guy to face Voit and Torres.
- Be ready to bring in a LHP to face Ford, this is probably where Touki should most likely exit.
- If Touki is allowed to face Ford, he is the guy to face Urshela and Sanchez a 2nd time.
- Be ready to bring in a LHP to face Gardner...barring a masterful performance, Touki probably doesn't get to face him a 2nd time.
- There is probably no realistic scenario where Touki should be allowed to face DJ and Judge a 3rd time, and under no circumstances does he face Hicks 3 times.

Acuna scratched due to wrist soreness.

Clearly the “mixing/cooking” celebratory gestures is damaging the teams wrists. That, or social distancing from their girls is really affecting them. 🤣

Don’t forget Chris Martin going on the IL with esophageal constriction...

The Yankees are a great example of how scary a team can be when they combine money with intelligence.

Notice they don't worry about putting a "speedy" guy lead off.

Notice they put their best hitter #2, even though he isn't "speedy".

Notice they de-prioritize the #3 spot because they understand he will bat many times in the 1st inning with nobody on base and 2 outs.

This type of tactical excellence is what the Braves should be aspiring to, not allowing Snit to bumble the lineup when AA forgets to give him the cheat sheet.

Considering that tomorrow smells like a bullpen game, there's very little to no chance that they're going to have a short leash on Touki.

Hopefully he can go 5 innings with decent enough results.

But I doubt there's going to be much in between here. Either he's going to do something like go 5 innings with 1-3 ER while striking out 8-10 or he's going to get shelled and be out after 2.

I was looking forward to this game, but now I don't feel great given that Acuna is out.
