GDT 8/11- the Touki in the Bronx

Toussaint should’ve tried to get Ford to chase, but be ok with the possibility of a walk and a fresh chance against a right-hander. Instead it’s 6-0.

No doubt. Ditto Duvall. Not sure why Ozuna is in RF and Duvall in LF—especially since neither has a great arm.
 
I have no issues with how Touki was handled. By the time Ford came up a 2nd time they were down by 4 and it was a fairly low leverage situation. He was then allowed to stretch out and get DJ.

Touki also seemed to pitch a lot better than 6 run allowed indicates.

And if the offense didn't **** the bed in a couple big spots Touki probably would have been pulled before facing Ford the 2nd time.

It doesn't take much imagination to see how this 6-0 game could be much different right now.
 
The two games I get to watch being two blowouts in the wrong direction is ... unfortunate.
 
I thought Touki made some more progress tonight in spite of our putrid defense.
Wilson still has no secondary stuff to go along with that fastball and imo is nothing more then an innings filler.
Hope I’m proved wrong about him but I just don’t see him ever being more then a AAAA guy and someone we should of packaged along for a veteran pitcher.
 
People talk a lot about his only having two pitches, but Wilson’s bigger problem in the bigs has been his control abandoning him.
