GDT 8/15/21: Braves @ Gnats - A Smyly Sunday Afternoon

I was certainly wrong about Swanson. I was very critical earlier this season, and I totally brushed off enscheff's xwOBA stat saying Swanson was unlucky. Im thrilled with being totally wrong bc this team is so much better with Swanson being a good hitter
 
Also, I grew tired of the “He’s not Andrelton, so he’ll never be good enough” crowd a long time ago. (And I know you’re not apart of that group.)
 
Now the discussion is becoming is Swanson really a 3.8 fWAR guy (current pace)? Should we pay him as that?
 
Dude gets a 3-0 lead and gives up back-to-back hitters who wouldn't even make our roster before allowing an RBI-single from Victor Robles, who has been borderline unplayable this year. Be better, Smyly
 
Rosario is playing cf at Gwinnett. Is that where we're gonna play him? Weird that pache and waters are off today

Because he’s trash…they always drool over how we’ve won like 11 straight starts of his but what they don’t say is that we have scored like 20 runs a game to cover his sorry @$$ giving up like 3-4 runs a game.

He’s been fine as a 5th starter and what we’re paying him, but yeah hopefully we get an in-house guy that can do the same thing for cheap
 
Mike Soroka will be in the booth on Knucksie night…and will probably probably require Tommy John’s immediately after.
 
Smyly certainly isn't great, but he's fine for a backend starter. He generally gives us a shot in every game
