GDT 8/15/22: Braves vs Mutts - Ready for Revenge

Take out the top and bottom outocme and he is at 89 which is the same as players like Kyle Tucker / Realmuto / William Contreras / Luis Robert.

Leave it to you to pick out the one stat from the 9 I listed that you could put some mathematically unsound spin on to back the narrative in your head haha.

Well done sir!

Removing outliers is mathematically unsound? Hmm.....

Clearly the book is not fully out on Grissom yet. Pitchers haven't even gotten a chance to adjust to him. The sample size is way to small still. However, he looks to be very aggressive on the bases, is having fun and seems to have a good approach at the plate. All things I really like in a young player.

I am more impressed with MH3 right now. He seems to be still maturing at the plate and that should scare the rest of the league.

It certainly is sound. Now tell me, genius, how did you define the outliers in that sample set of 16 values? Based on some number of standard deviations from the mean? In a sample set of 16?

Please, educate me on this analysis technique. Please, share just a shred of your dizzying intellect with the rest of us.

Outliers have more of an impact in a small sample chief and a more principled data guy would use median until a reasonable baseline of actuals can be analyzed so that the variance risk can be lessened.

I’d DH Ozzie when he’s back and keep Grissom at second.
Ozzie doesn’t have to play the field with his newly healed foot and we keep both in the lineup without sacrificing much defense.
Next year either Grissom plays left or replaces Swanson if we don’t resign him.

I don’t understand what you disagree with ensheff about.

He complimented him on approach and questioned his CURRENT ability to hit the ball hard. If you look at him, he’s rail thin. It would be surprising if he hit the ball hard.

'Thiness' is not a detriment to hitting the ball hard.

Its all about wrists and how much you trust chopping the axe.

Dude. It’s a sample size of 16. You are way overthinking this.

An inappropriate conclusion was made on a statistically insignificant sample and I corrected the record or provided clarification. Whichever way you want to label it.
