Yes! He is the the freaking manager.

Things the manager can do to help his hitters hit better.

1. Extra work in the cages.
2. Hit them in a different spot in the order.
3. Bench them. (Bj)
4. Teach them how to freaking Bunt.
5. Give them a day off once in a while. (Freeman earlier in the year.)
6. He is the freaking manager and should take ALL responsibility.
7. Fire the freaking worthless hitting coach.

P.S. Walker needs to take blame 2nd.

Justin would have had a shot of throwing Fuld out on that liner. They're much harder to time and he was much closer to the IF to make a throw and his momentum was carrying himtowards the plate.

It's not like we don't consider that too when being critical of Fredi. I have often said that using such and such reliever means nothing tonight but will probably cost us a game later in the week when unavailable and needed. This too often comes to pass due to Fredi's awful bullpen management.
 
What Fredi is doing to Stella! is a perfect example of him failing miserably at his job and hurting the offense (and a young player who is likely the future at 2B) in the process. A manager needs to put his players in the best position to succeed. That's perhaps the most important job they have, since it deals with confidence and that's a huge part of the game. Fredi does that worse than just about any other manager in baseball.
