GDT 8/17/2013: Nationals @ Braves

I think Murphy is a little too hyper to be in the booth which is why he talks so much. But he's perfect for Braves Live. I love Glavine in the booth. Which he was there for every game.

You can tell Murph's nervous. He's better now, but Glavine is the nuts.

Which is why I think Medlen's long-term future will be as a reliever. There's no shame in that.

Then we need to sell high and trade him in the off season before this becomes the case. I'm sure we could trick Detroit or Anaheim into taking him.

Either are better than listening to Chip try to sound like an analyst.

Glavine's so good because he's so laid back and never really gets excited or yells in the booth.

Believe it or not, I actually don't like Glavine in the booth. He doesn't have the personality or voice for it, and to me he often times comes off arrogant. He's the opposite of Smoltz, who in my opinion is one of the better booth guys.

Glavine has a sarcastic sense of humor, where as Smoltz was more direct with his humor.

Glavine's approach is I'm having a beer with you and we're just ranting about the game.

Smoltz's approach is, I'm a 19 year veteran, and here's what my view of the game is.

Nothing wrong with either tbh.

I personally would rather have the knowledge than the flash. Tom has that. But all in all, it's a personal preference. I can understand your point.

Except my opinion of Glavine is, he comes off like "I'm having a beer with you, but I'm also being a prickish, sarcastic, know it all"
