GDT 8/17/2013: Nationals @ Braves

Glavine has a sarcastic sense of humor, where as Smoltz was more direct with his humor.

Glavine's approach is I'm having a beer with you and we're just ranting about the game.

Smoltz's approach is, I'm a 19 year veteran, and here's what my view of the game is.

Nothing wrong with either tbh.

I enjoy both of their styles and would love to hear them do a game together.

Lol they wanna introduce replay and challenges to baseball but don't want to fix their obvious problem. Umpire strike zones.

Tonight was my first night on this site. Nice to have a "go to" site for the game. Thanks to you all. Look forward to the next night game. That having been said, DAMN I hate losing to these guys... Happy Sunday to you all.

We'll have to get 'em tomorrow and win the series. Love the way they never gave up!

Well said. It's just a shame the ump totally changed his strike zone. If Minor had the same strike zone he'd pitched longer and deeper. It was a horribly called game by the ump. He squeezes Minor in the second and then gives the Nats everything later.

And Minor going only 1 1/3

He'd went longer if not for the missed strike three call in the second. He had a tiny strike zone compared to what we saw the Nats pitchers getting. I am not saying he pitched well, he was off tonight but the missed calls made it worse.

They blew yes...but the offense going dormant for 6 innings cost them the game.

Because they didn't know which pitches to swing at and which one's not to and as a result they swung at a lot of bad pitches that they couldn't hit. It started in the 7th inning with horrible calls on Joey T and Heyward. From then on it was absolutely brutal.
