GDT 8/27/23: Braves @ Giants - Big Opportunity for Shuster

He wasn't exactly good. Gave up the HR and fell apart in the 5th. But that's basically what you expect from a fringey pitcher with extremely below average stuff.

Or a young pitcher who just gets spot starts here and there. I think he has a chance to a 5 for us by next season... sorta like an elder jump. Never gonna be great, but certainly useful

Hey, always a great idea to have a pitcher who got hit hard to pitch another inning as if one bad inning wasn't enough.

It's one thing to throw McHugh out there in a 6-3 game where SF has momentum....but to bring him back out when the team is right back in the game?

Problem is he's been getting murdered in AAA this year too. Considering his complete lack of an arsenal, expecting him to be a 5th starter is seriously optimistic.

Since when did McHugh become "our worst reliever"? He's been solid since we got him and he usually doesn't walk people. Last time out he went 3 scoreless.

You guys act like we need to win this game. We don't.
