Shelby Miller can't catch a break. What little offense he had behind him gets traded in the middle of the game.

#Braves have scored a total of 14 runs while Shelby Miller has been on the mound in his last 14 starts, including none in 8 of them

Miller has now allowed two earned runs or less in 12 of those 19 starts. Ninth time the #Braves have provided ZERO runs during this span.

Speaking of which, I'm doing the you pick game again for the college football season over on the off topic board. Everyone is invited to play.

Braves doing all they can do for that first overall pick. I'll give them that. :)

What's going to be fun is watching those that will criticize whoever they pick because the player isn't from college and/or doesn't fit some sabermetric model that some non-baseball guy from MIT came up with.

These games are the best of both worlds. We get to watch Shelly dominate an opposing lineup, and we also get to continue our quest for the #1 pick! I hope this streak lasts through the end of the year.

Ignoring the most annoying part of your post, I'm pretty sure that when it comes to the #1 overall pick, nobody tends to worry about that type of stuff. Typically there are a couple clear cut options at the top and nobody from Jeff Lunhow to Kevin Towers will argue too hard about these players.

The only "philosophy" that might get a team to take a certain player over a better one is if they want to pull off what Houston did this year and game their bonus pool.

Yeah, cause there were all kinds of people criticizing the pick of Allard in this years draft eh?

:FrediPuzzled:

If the pick makes sense people will be happy.
