GDT 8/5/2013 Braves vs Nationals

House money, man. We're 11 1/2 up going in. No stress
No offense, but, I want the team to win as many games as they can, regardless of the standings. So, having a high pressure situation like that in the 9th inning for Walden, was most certainly stressful.

Either way, great win. Ha ha.

If someone wants to help me plug this site on facebook pages for Atlanta Braves and Thanks Bobby! I'd appreciate it. :Bunchie1:

Neither have posted their typical post-game facebook status.

Anything in particular that you would like said? I am not the greatest at coming up with promotional stuff, but, if you have something written, in mind, I would certainly post it on Braves pages that I follow on there.

So Justin really did it all tonight...stole the base before Freeman's RBI, and hit the go ahead homer.

And Freeman really does need to be in the discussion for MVP.

Watching the highlights of the game again. Awesome how many Braves fans turned out at Nationals Park tonight.

I don't understand why they didn't start Werth, one of the hottest hitters in baseball right now.

Speaking of David Carpenter, he credits Hudson a lot for his improvement: Carpenter's ability to command his slider more consistently this year is also a product of a conversation he had with Tim Hudson shortly after he was called up to Atlanta in May. Hudson's advice led Carpenter to make an adjustment to where he places his thumb while throwing his slider and splitter.

"If you're working too far underneath the ball with your thumb, it has a tendency to make the ball want to pop out of your hand with the slider," Carpenter said. "With the splitter, it kind of holds it up and doesn't have that good down action. I'm just really, really fortunate to have an older guy like [Hudson] to help out. I thank him for it every day."

Mike Minor felt he had his worst stuff tonight. He credited the defense for him only giving up two runs. He wasn't happy at how he pitched but thankful the team won anyway.

Personally, I'd say Minor deserves credit for the way he battled with the stuff he lacked tonight. He still gave us a quality start too.

I still don't understand why, if he knew he wasn't going to use him 4 games in a row, Fredi used Kimbrel last night in Philly with a 3 run lead.

But a win is a win is a win, so I can't really complain.

Maybe because the Nats are our ***** and Fredi knows it? OK, I am kidding but we have pretty well owned the Nats thus far.
