GDT 8/5 Braves (Teheran) @ Mets (Oswalt)

Much needed win, win 3 of 4 this weekend and lose a game in the standings, thats baseball lol.

I hope I'm wrong, but I think the Nats are about to go on that 10 or 15-game tear everyone has been waiting for. They're healthy and beginning to click.

Hopefully, we can weather it and get by them.

ok had to give my newborn a bath - he threw up on himself after that Mesorocco HR. glad we came back got win it!

LOL. Cabrera 2-run homer and the Phillies are up 5-3.

I am so insanely ready to play them at the end of the year. Hopefully we can shut them and their annoying fanbase down, for good.

I tend to listen to the Mets' announcers when we play NY. Both their radio and TV guys are effusive in their praise for the Braves in general but particularly Acuna and Albies.

It's a huge contrast from 20 or so years ago when all their media people could ever say was, "who cares if the Braves beat us; how many World Series have they won?"

With the Mets starting pitching, if they had any semblance of an offense, they'd be dangerous. Give respect; get respect.

On paper, I think we have the pitching advantage in 3 of the 4 games vs nats. Really need to get a split at worst

They're legit, gonna be tough.

Unfortunately given scheduling (in particular, looking at the Red Sox-west coast trip coming next month), I'm honestly not sure the Braves are going to be within range for it to matter what happens in those games.

Braves have pitching advantage in all the games but Scherzer/Folty, just split and it's a win.

Philly also starts September with 12 games vs the Marlins and Mets, division may be out of reach unless Washington gets absurdly hot.

It sucks but Braves one loss this series cost them ground in the standings. Miami has been a pushover vs Philly and about to be swept after Philly took one in Boston too.

Washington and Philly play a home/home 3 game series each this month, that will help some.
