GDT 8/6/13: Braves (Teheran) @ Nationals (Gonzalez) 7:05 PM

Apparently Danny Espinosa (Espy is Espinosa, right?) said in the postgame, "I still don't think they're better than us."

I mean I'm all for being confident in your team and all, but really? Not only is your team 3-9 against the Braves this year, but you're also 14.5 games behind them in the standings.

Fredi needs to take care of that whistling bugger he's got here during the postgame presser.

Ridiculous stats for the Braves pen against the Nats in their last 17 games. 42IP 0ER 15H 5BB 42K 1XBH That is insane.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the last run given up was that Kibrell blown save over a year ago right!

Even one of the Zombie Expos fans, on that board that was linked, responded, "How deep can Espy's foot get into his mouth?"

I read that thread, too. My favorite was the one saying Harper could've taken McCann "and his GF Teheran."

Forget Mac. I'd just like to see Harper and Teheran square off. I'd bet on the kid from Cartagena, Colombia, every day of the week.

Me too.

He was just explaining the injury and the doctors said it was a spasm. He said just gonna listen to the doctors.

If he loved baseball, he'd tell the doctors to go f themselves and put himself back in the game. Forget the substitution rules, just walk back on the field and when the UMP says HEY what are you doing? He gives htem the Teheran "Wutchu gonna du?"

I wonder if Harper 'definitely did come here for this'? Be nice if he had some losing seasons ahead of him like 'ol Papelbon...

at what? checkers?

Bryce Harper, asked if he was surprised Teheran hit him: "I hit that ball pretty far off him, so, no."

They were asking him about the neck and if he thought it would be a couple-day thing.

He said "I'll be honest. I don't know if they're gonna let me, but I'm playing tomorrow."

Thanks for the correction on the Braves best winning streak, I was thinking of '82 and the streak capped off by Nixon's catch (also a 13 game winning streak). That said, if the Braves win tomorrow they still have a shot to tie or even break the 15-game streak from 2000.

If Harper was being honest then OK, hard nose baseball.
If he was being a d****e and making fun of Teheran then only 2 things to say: Bryce, what was the last out of the game and 'SCOREBOARD, b***h!!'
