One start doesn’t mean he’s starting to turn the corner but if you look at Touki’s k per for the season it’s pretty freaking elite.
I understand there have been many pitchers in the past that had nice strikeout totals and never panned out but I’ve always been a fan of his since it’s pretty clear he has great swing and miss stuff.
If he could limit the walks then I still think he could be a nice 3/4 in a rotation.
The only possible bright spot of Soroka going down would be for some of our youngsters who never truly had a long stint in the rotation to gain some confidence and develop.
I believe that’s what happened to Charlie Morton when he left Atlanta.
Finally got a full season to develop in Pittsburgh without the constant fear of being sent down and flourished.
Who knows maybe TT will be that guy.
