GDT 8/6/2021 Braves vs. Gnats - We’re Going Streaking!!!

If we win the next 2 and the Mets and Phillies split their next two…we will be tied for 1st with the Philliez

it feels like the Metropolitans are entering one of those spasms of ineptitude that will give their fans something to talk about all off-season...there is nothing better than loser Metropolitan talk radio

Even with DeGrom, he can't pitch every day. The Mets had a chance and failed. I have liked Philly better all year anyway. But seeing how well the acquisitions have fit in I expect us to be in first for good by September 1st.

Was anything said post game about Muller’s fastball command? The problems were pretty dramatic.

Any links? I could use a laugh.

Think he hit 100 on a max effort throw at Driveline.
He did and it is why I could care less about "hitting" a certain mph. So I've seen Strider, Diaz, Rangel and Vines to name a few. Strider and Diaz **** around 95. And it's true easy gas. Yes, they both regularly hit 98-99. Occasionally 100. But that's not the basis of their great stuff.

Rangel and Vines are the complete opposite. They sit 93ish and can bump it to 95.. Even if they bumped it to 100..so what if they can't maintain consistent high velocities? They pitch though. And it serves them well.

If you saw the video..watch Muller gain running momentum to hit that 100. The Braves don't encourage velocity over command (although they should probably reverse that considering the command of several of the higher arms performance at the mlb level).

AA is a genius. Turned a potential dud season around to where with all the reinforcements coming you could squint hard and see us winning the whole thing.

I don’t think you’d need to squint that hard exactly.... what’s truly beautiful is we are where we are with full farm intact and no Acuna, TDA, Anderson, Ozuna, etc. methinks our front office is bad ass.

This is primarily bolstered by the incredible drafting by bridges and Clark but AA has quietly restocked the system despite many uphill obstacles.

Yep, he’s been fighting with one hand tied behind his back. I’m honestly very, very impressed. His job is to get us into contention and keep us there. He has done that and then some. He is still building and with Vod, M Harris, Lang, Tarny, etc we looking real good -

As someone who has questioned some of his past moves and rightfully so, I think this years deadline moves were by far my favorite group of moves since he got there. That is not counting those two extensions he got signed. But the way he fixed the bench, outfield and pen with real players and not give anything up. That was incredible. I am not squinting and pretending this team has a chance. But I am keeping my eyes open and really enjoying a team who can compete with most anyone. They will be in it till the end and revenue will stay high. Just fire the team doctors and bring back a few guys and next year could be very special.

I agree. Just recalling where the idea of 100 came from.
