Remember when Olson couldn't tag the runner at 1b that led to 3 runs? I remember. Our DH at 1b seems to cost us runs every game

Three pretty rough performances in a row - each of them lost by 2 runs or less.[/QUOTE

Plain and simple...we don't have the arms to be competitive on October...it's been this way all year and they've just been able to hit their way out of it..
I know you’re not a Matt Olson fan for some reason, but the walks in that inning along with Strider not being able to put hitters away was a much bigger issue in that inning.
I am so freaking sick of losing gimme because of dumbass mistakes.
I love Olson's bat. He was a huge part of getting back in this game, but his glove is a damn problem. Strider was horrible tonight, but he's been great all year. Olson's glove has been terrible for 2 years now
Olson hasn't had the best road trip with the glove in these gross conditions here and in Chicago.
But let's chill out on saying he's a terrible defender.
He's a lot better than most 1B in the league.
Stop overreacting to a losing streak guys.

In the end, I think this is the best roster in baseball and I'm not sure it's that close. The only thing stopping them from running over everyone is themselves. They realistically should be in the middle of a 9 of 11 (or better) streak. It's just brutal that they keep shooting themselves in the foot

Also, Strider is puzzling me. For much of the season, he's been unable to stop the bleeding once he runs into trouble. Some of that is certainly bad luck / sequencing, but it often feels like he gets the jitters once a couple of runners reach, loses control of his pitches and in turn loses part of his arsenal. A team like the Pirates isn't supposed to get the kind of swings off him they got last night, unless they know what to look for. With his peripherals, he has no business having an ERA near 4, yet that's where it sits.
