GDT 8/8- Uncle Charlie … we gonna need a ten spot

Our problem is we have to many guys that need rest in the rotation. Its cool if you have 1 maybe 2 at the most. But we have Sale, Lopez, and Fried. Thats to many needed starters. AA needs to replace Fried with a guy that can go on 5 days rest and replace Morton with an innings eater.

Thats literally what Charlie was supposed to do for us this year.

Yep. But at age 40 thats tough and especially at 20 million. AA will need 2 good rotation pieces and to create a deep bench and alot of depth pieces in AAA for next year. Its doable with our budget.

Holmes starting tomorrow. This team has given up.

who did you expect to start... he is the defacto 5th starter until Lopez is ready.

Not that it matters, but I suspect Lopez to take longer than his IL stint.. and I have a feeling Fried will also hit the IL again.

I bet Max's agent wants his azz to lean hard into an IL stint and then make 1 or 2 last starts before September.

I will gladly take Max back for another year if healthy. It is the curse of the Freddito. It won't break until Freddie is back with the Braves or retired.

Have you heard of Spencer Schwellenbach? Because it’s supposed to be his turn in the rotation.

They just announced SS would be skipped to limit his innings to. Hes already pitched double what he ever has. Man this year has been wild.

I guess I thought Sat was normal rest.. almost impossible to keep track with all the garbage starts they keep handing out.

not sure I get the continued skipping of starters, since the braves are basically a half game out of the playoffs.

With that "news" that Snit may retire after 2025, I really hope AA finally breaks off from the Bobby Cox tree. This means no Eddie Perez or Walt Weiss.

I am big fan of Rocco Baldelli myself. AJ Hinch as well. Both guys could see themselves without jobs within the next 12 months, through no fault of their own.

If we need a manager, there's no way AA doesn't look for an ex-A's guy. He loves the A's

Just know that if Twit leaves this winter, it will be a Cox disciple. This entire org centers every decision around the cox sun.. it will be Walt or Tui or some other idiot that is a left over from the good ol days of the 90's where Cox was a brilliant manager for taking his team of 5 hall of famers to the playoff every year.

No rumblings on Baldelli's status up here so I think he's safe. I think things were murkier a month ago, but the Twins have been on a roll and look to be playoff bound. If there's a collapse, I can see the front office going in another direction, but I think it would be a mistake.

Baldelli is a very good manager and does a great job of managing line-ups and keeping guys fresh. Willi Castro is the Twins' super-utility guy and he's played almost every day at one of five positions (2B, SS, 3B, CF, LF). It's always been a chicken/egg quesion with me regarding Snitker is whether the Braves lack a super-utility guy or if Snitker wouldn't know how to use a super-utility guy. Baldelli also rotates the DH role between several guys.

Baldelli is super low-key with the press; kind of a New Age Snitker. Hipper terms instead of the standard old school cliches when addressing what's happening. He runs a very good clubhouse and part of that is he appears to have total buy-in from the players. My favorite sports talk radio host up here has termed him the Baldelli Lama and that's a pretty good description of his demeanor. I think he'd be great for the Braves, but it would be a change from having a guy that simply writes in pretty much the same line-up every day (when guys are healthy). Of course, to do what Baldelli has done up here, he'd have to have a more flexible bench.

great info 50.. sounds like a good manager or at least in some aspects. I think with a regime change, players might reconsider Atlanta as a playing spot because most know Twit is old school and doesn't like printing off too many permanent line up cards.
