GDT 8/9/19 - RETURN OF THE ATTACK OF THE ANIBAL

it's too bad we haven't drafted more low ceiling pitchers recently. we may actually have a good farm then.

I prefer using my assets on established pitchers (Gausman, Mcarthy, etc) than on speculative pitchers that have a ridiculous bust rate.

I prefer investing in established stocks (AAPL) than on stock with chances to go to 0

But that's just me.

I'm not saying don't get any pitching but we got only pitching.

Thank God for Wren getting us all of our good position talent

You realize that all but one pitcher on the Faillies are basically up from their minors or prospects from trades right.

The only improvement the Braves made offensively at the deadline was to acquire a RHH corner OFer to platoon with Ender vs LHP.

That RHH platoon OFer has started 3 games since the deadline. One of those starts was vs a RHP, and he sat today vs a LHP.

Snit isn't using pieces in the way they were specifically acquired to be used. This is completely inexcusable if I'm the GM, and needs to be addressed immediately. There is no rationale for Duvall starting vs a RHP in place of Acuna and sitting vs a LHP in favor of Ender. It is pure and utter stupidity that can't be allowed to continue happening.

Winning baseball games is about adding up a bunch of small advantages over the course of a long season. Snit must become better at using those advantages consistently so they can start adding up to more wins, or he needs to go.

You ain't kidding.

Plus not starting Camargo against a lefty is criminal

And why are the young guys getting breaks but not the vets?

We played fu cking scrub pitchers in a series we need?

WTF
WTF
WTF

Allard and 2 jabronis who has no business pitching at this level, hell they would get knocked around by high schoolers and guess what, two of our losses.

Fu ck Snitker and AA. They are fu cking pathetic.

Agreed. If Camargo is going to play, he needs to play vs LHP.

These are very simple advantages a manager must be able to give his team over the course of a season.

correct.
"i made a bad, irrelevant point. so upon realizing this, i will say i was trolling. win!"

Lol dude .. you think using every asset we had to acquire starting pitching was the right strategy?

They are falling like flies. We had to trade for a controllable starting pitcher

Maybe we can be like the Mets instead of the Astros, Cubs, and Red Sox.

Nah, let's follow the Mets blueprint

Why the fu ck is Allard still on this team and not traded? He is a Glavine wanna be and that schit ain't happening in 2018.

Who the fu ck is Parson, guy from Winter Wonderland and McCreery, the guy that won or 2nd place in American Idol like 8 years ago?

We had a meaningful series and we let these three jabronis pitch to our losses, WTF is the problem with our management, seriously, wtf?

I'm as frustrated as anyone, I mean we could have taken the division lead today, but people's anger is hilarious.

In retrospect, probably shouldn't have burnt up all your middle relief and thrown Brach yesterday. Could've tried to go Biddle for 3 (this isn't ideal though, if you do and are going to be smart, you lose arguably your best/most clutch reliever of the year until Sunday after that), Venters for 1, Brach for 2, and then had Minter close if all broke well.

But who knows if it does? That's what the problem is when you have two games you lose starting pitchers to line drives.

I would let Snit go at the end of the season and let him take another role. He’s just not a manager that needs to be managinging a contending team.

With the caveat that much of the manager’s job happens beyond 7-10 PM, I have been pretty disheartened by Snit’s bench and bullpen usage. I wish AA has shored up the bench a little more, but he held up his end with some badly-needed bullpen upgrades, but Snit really still seems to have a hard time putting the pieces in the right places.
