They are a machine. In all seriousness a machine. They replace the best first baseman in the game with a top-five first baseman. Okay, fine. But to replace the best shortstop in the league with a bench guy and get away with it?
Yes, Riley should be at 1b. This is common baseball tactics. The reason it confuses you is because you’re used to a simpleton pulling the strings for the team you watch.
