GDT 9/22/13: Braves (Teheran) @ Cubs (Jackson) 2:20 PM

Freddie Freeman should be the MVP. Through all the injuries, hes been the biggest threat all year long(minus one DL stint).

I can understand McCutchen as well, but since the Braves have the better record, Freeman deserves the frigging MVP.

He is an absolute must re-sign. He should be the Braves #1 priority. Amazing how good he is considering how young he is.

Followed the game on my phone and there was once again all that angst that goes with following, but not actually watching a game. Did Varvaro run over Fredi's dog or something. Seems he should at least be given an audition for Ayala's role. We have to hope Walden is healthy for the playoffs and the bridge to Kimbrel is getting a little shaky.

Freeman had that trip to the DL early, but other than that, he has been the constant in the season. I think an argument can be made for Justin Upton due to his being key to our early success, but I think Freeman is the Braves' MVP. As far as league MVP goes, he'll get some votes, but my guess is he won't get enough. I see a Top 10 finish. The kid just has great hitting fundamentals and when you are as big as he is, those fundamentals translate to 20+ HRs by just having 500 ABs. Don't know if he'll ever be a big power guy, because that isn't his approach (at least right now).

Glad we won. I didn't see us winning the division but we played a lot better than the Nats and like Bobby always said, "They let you play 162 games." Lots of guys stepped up. I never expected this out of Gattis and while I thought Teheran would be a decent back-end guy, I didn't see him pitching this well. He, like Freeman, really has "it" (as does Heyward).

I like that Teheran seems to have a mean streak in him also! After the Cub (I believe Lake) called and was granted timeout to mess up Julio's delivery, the very next pitch was a "bit" high and inside, not at his head but close saying 'don't call timeout like that again, OK'! About time we get some players not afraid to fight for what's right! (I loved Alex Wood's reaction the other night as well).

Absolutely. Guy seems to have that Maddux "edge" although they are totally different types of pitchers. I wouldn't screw around in the box with Teheran on the mound.

Teheran, Wood, Gattis. Another great year for the farm system. After Simmons last year, Freeman, Kimbrel, Beachy, Minor in 2011 and Heyward in 2010. It has been a fabulous run.

The next year or two things will dry up a little. But I have high hopes for Sims and Peraza.
