GDT 9/28/13: Phillies (Martin @ Braves (Minor) 7:10 PM

I miss Bobby.

You know after Fredi's ejection on Monday vs. Angel Hernandez... he might be headed towards his mentor's style of ejections.

That's the first time I've ever seen him kick dirt to show up an umpire while being ejected, and then come back for seconds to really stick it to him.

Hope he goes back and watches some of Bobby's ejections, then he can start throwing his hat, taking both his index fingers and holding them at ruler's length to demonstrate how much the umpire missed that strike, the overexaggeration of the check swing pullback like in the video above, etc.

I don't understand some of your comments.

I'm not saying this is the case with Bdawg2309, but I've also noticed similar views of TP among younger (or newer) Braves fans. Now that's not to say there's anything wrong with being a younger or new Braves fan. It's just I wouldn't expect someone to appreciate TP much if they mostly remember his failed attempt as our batting coach.

Except there was no failed attempt as our batting coach.

He didn't last as our hitting coach and many were very critical of the job he did. That's viewed as a failed attempt at it rightly or wrongly.

He didn't "last" because Fredi took over and wanted his own coaching staff. He was our HC for almost a decade and we had some pretty good offensive teams. You make it sound as if he here two years and was fired.

And fans criticize every hitting coach. It's everyone's favorite scapegoat.

Nah, I was clearly defending TP and just pointing out the view of those that see him as such. And I never said that I agree, but a lot did take the change as TP being fired as hitting coach. Personally, I don't have a strong opinion one way or another about TP days as hitting coach. I am just glad that he's still a coach on the team.

I like TP so much I supported him for manager before they hired Fredi. I was in the minority on that too.

Had that been a black player nothing would have been said. So this is now a racial thing. Just saying.
Lots of ammo on this topic. First, therr are reports that the helmet hit Pendleton and the Braves in general are tired of his antics. Also reports that TP took issue with Johnson being more interested in where the ball was headed than he was in hustling. IDK which cause I had gone to bed.

Younger posters may not be aware that TP turned down jobs with the organization for years until he got his family raised. To me that is putting things in proper perspective. BTW, being a hitting coach in these days is pretty much a year round job.
