I mean I don't think you could go wrong with that, but SS has been the 2nd best pitcher on the team since the break by non counting stats. Most underlying metrics like him better right now over Lopez. Both guys are in inning territories that are above what they are used to. My only thought is that Lopez is used to coming out of the pen. But having SS go tomorrow and rolling with Sale, Fried, Lopez wouldn't piss me off..

if I remember, Fried is probably the 4th best when looking at expected stats, but I would have to double check that.

You have to look at total losses. A braves win or dbacks loss tomorrow. And we could lose the double header and we would have the same amount of losses. Braves would get in via tie breaker.
 
Yes- but we’d have a one game over Az who would be done. We could lose both DH games and still be tied with them, and we have the tie- breaker. So, if we win tomorrow we beat them no matter what.

So, what do the Braves do Monday if the Dbacks are eliminated tomorrow? Is it worth trying to win one game vs the Mets just to help seeding?

I think not. If the Braves have to play Monday after clinching a playoff spot, I wouldn’t pitch anyone who would be on the postseason roster and rest as many regulars as is mathematically possible.

We have the same amount of wins as AZ currently but 2 less losses. AZ doesn't play after tomorrow, so the most wins they can get is 89. So if we win tomorrow, we also have 89 wins and the tie breaker vs AZ, making Monday's games irrelevant.

I forgot theyve played 2 more games than us.
 
Magic number for AZ is 1, NY is 2. I cant believe how well this weekend has gone so far. Perfection.

Here's a question. Let's say the Braves clinch tomorrow, and the Mets clinch after the first game on Monday. Do they play the second?
