I'm half expecting Olson will get x-rays on his hand tonight, and it'll turn out to be broken. That would be the cherry on top of this cursed season.
 
What happens if we lose the 1st game? You almost have to throw Sale game 2 bc if not then there might not be a playoffs.

Probably have to, but depends who the Mets are throwing. They probably would rather face the Brewers than travel cross country flight to SD.

Maybe not. Given our decades-long ownership of them, I'd think they'd like nothing better than to send us home. Shortsighted, yes, but we're talking about the Mets.
 
Worst worst case scenario is we lose both games. Worst case scenario is we burn Sale in the 2nd game and he misses the 1st round of the playoffs. The offense completey crapped the bed today just like they have all year. Albies and Soler have to swap spots in the lineup and we have to get Kelenic and Merrifield some playing time to get them somewhat ready in case we need them.

And then they go to SD instead of brewers. It would be the dumbest move ever by the Mets
 
This collective board needs to stop and think -

If I told you last Thursday morning that we could have just a split in a double header on Monday and would have Schwelley and then Sale if needed vs. the Mets in Truist Park to get in…..

Every damn last one of you would have jumped on that.

Let’s get ‘er done game one and get packing for playoffs!!!!!

Pretty much. Regarldess of what happened today the overall results of the weekend have been great.

In the 2nd half Sale has the 2nd lowest FIP in MLB at 1.84. SS is 19th at 3.35. I'm confident we can win one.
 
I think we win one and hopefully it's the first one. I really want Sale rested to pitch game one of the playoffs (if we make it)
