GDT 9/30/24: Braves vs Mets - DH Game 1

This is why i hope they go after Crochet or another good SP in the offseason. Strider may not be Steider when he comes back and Sale is usually hurt.

Lol wut. If he’s not going to start a win or go home game, then he’s not starting period.
 
If sale is too injured to pitch in an elimination game he will be too injured to pitch tomorrow. Holmes going today means there is literally nobody other than AAAA fodder to pitch tomorrow.
 
I hope everyone savored 2024 Sale, because this is a glimpse of what we will likely see next year…sale not pitching.

It may just be GM talk but they said its day to day and they’ll see how he feels tomorrow if we make it through this. Like you said though this is the biggest game of the year and for him to not be able to pitch could be a sign he’s done.

It may just be GM talk but they said its day to day and they’ll see how he feels tomorrow if we make it through this. Like you said though this is the biggest game of the year and for him to not be able to pitch could be a sign he’s done.
 
Offense is in peak sleepwalking mode early. So at least they are consistent.

Ozuna in pure pull a HR mode. Does he even know the playoffs are on the line? Or does he just think he gets a few more swings to hit his 40th?

Ozuna is making the decision to let him walk be easy. We're stuck with soler and he can fake it in rf. With Acuna needing to DH more, ozuna is out

If Arcia is anything but a backup next year I will be pissed. I defended him a lot this year, but he's completely useless as a hitter.

Arcia needs to be gone. His antics in the playoffs haven't been forgotten by me.

I dont know how to say this nicely, but that is retarded. You think our offense is bad now. Dont pick up Ozunas option and watch him sign for 30 million somewhere else while our offense loses its best hitter. Thats a recipe for success if I ever heard it. Even if we didnt want Ozuna he has good trade value.

He has put out a 96 RC and has 1.1 WAR in the second half with 10 homers. He is a below average hitter at the second worst offensive position. He killed us in the first half but he has been okay in the second half. We dont have the resources right now to bring in a significantly better SS. I just want them to bring in a LH hitter to atleast give us another option. David Hamilton of the Red Sox is who I would go after. Not good enough to have a super high price, the Red Sox are overloaded with LH hitters, and they have a good LH hitting SS prospect in the high minors. Hamilton is strictly a platoon bat who is just average vs RH pitchers but he has elite speed and position versatility. He has experience playing CF. And with Soler being a statue on defense we need the position versatility. Hamilton and Merrifield would be perfect imo for 2025. Hamilton can play 2B/SS/3B/CF and probably 1B/LF if we wanted to. Merrfield can play 3B/2B/LF/1B.

I am holding out hope this is just to **** with the Padres.
