GDT 9/4/13: Mets (Gee) @ Braves (Loe) 12:10 PM

the Laird gvs Gattis debate ends in a draw. Both K with RISP.

I doubt it will matter with Loe on the mound. I just don't see us scoring enough off Gee to make up for how many Loe is likely to give up. Gee is a very good pitcher and Loe, well enough said.

Gwinett's season is over. They were bad but its hard to believe the only P's they had that could help us are Loe and Garcia.

Well, we've gotten him through two innings with only two runs so far. That's better than I expected to be honest.

Gattis had three extra base hits in AAA on off-speed pitches. Gee made both he and Laird look bad, I guess we should send them both to AAA.

I would think the experience of facing major league breaking balls is probably more valuable than facing the AAA versions. Nothing wrong with a little learning at the major league level. I think some people just have it in for particular players. Gattis is not the only one having to make an adjustment to major league breaking balls. We're seeing the same thing with Terdoslavich.

We agree as usual, very nice and well thought out post. Common sense lives!

Well this game is over....

Never give in–never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy, even the Mets.

If Loe doesn't get DFA'd for good and replaced with a better arm after today, well I don't know what it will take.
