It matters a ton - this is the year you don't want to get mixed up in the scrum that's going on for the #7 and #8 seeds right now. Really need to stand on the gas for the next 10 days. Losing the second game Friday night really hurts - would have really helped get some separation.
 
Just used the reds as an example.

To me there are a ton of teams in the bottom around 500 who are a good week from getting into the playoffs.

My dream scenario would be Rockies or marlins and someone like reds take out dodgers for us.

Would really be nice to secure that number-two seed and get to play the first-round series against one of those third-place teams.
 
I feel like we’re seeing too many walks to Acuña. That’s not to say Acuña is doing anything wrong but why face Acuña in a high leverage situation when you can just face Swanson instead? Freeman needs to move up to the 2 spot again and move Swanson down to 3.

Braves have scored 7, 9, 4, and 10 runs in his 4 games back. His walks and the resulting offense is fine.

Walks are good.hitting lead off is not.
Think of how many more RBI’s he would have hitting 2nd or 3rd like he should be.
I still will never understand the he’s only good in the lead off spot thinking

because “runs” is in the name?
i don’t care about his numbers per se. i care about the fact that he keeps hitting leadoff home runs instead of more of them being with guys on base. hitting him 2nd would add runs to the Braves totals. seems good.

So who would be hitting leadoff, Swanson? Because he would not have been on base for any of Acuna's homers this weekend.
