GDT: 9/7 Marlins at Braves

Surprised Freeman couldn't make that pick.

Still, I'd probably (remotely) score that a hit, given how slowly it was hit.

This would be an annoying loss given how many we've had on base. And Anderson gifted them 1 run with his overthrow.

Is baseball the only sport where the announcers all act like they are amazed they can even utter modern phrases and concepts? Do you hear the same complete resistance to progress in NFL or NBA announcers?

On some local broadcasts in the NBA, yes. The Chicago Bulls' inept local broadcast team is a good example.

But it's rarer, for sure.

Queue up a Markakis Special (GIDP to 2B).

Tried to reverse-jinx him, but he produced just as expected. Luckily the Marlins gifted him out of the full Special.

And Brinson produces another gift. Would love for Riley to take advantage.

Markakis has actually hurt the team quite a bit recently.

It's amazing to me how a "professional hitter" can just fall off a cliff so fast.

It's makes a little more sense, at his age, in a 162-game season where he's playing every day. But I don't even think he's cracked thirty games on this baby-season.

Hechavarria having himself a good day at the dish. Hope he can get one more hit against the fish.
