Some trivia for you: "Doug Fister" just misses Chip Caray's top five all-time favorite MLB names; he trails only Phil Coke, Nate Bump, Dick Lines, Buck Hooker, and former Pirates farmhand Phineas T. Ballgag.

The Braves have to be asking themselves some questions right now. Is this a playoff team? Who is going to step up? What is it going to take to get back on the right track? And who ate the entire platter of bearclaws that was in the clubhouse this morning? The answers to the first three remain to be revealed. The answer to the fourth is catching and batting eighth.

So. Here we go. **** the "Washington" Nats. Washington is a STATE, in the Pacific Northwest, for chrissake. **** their lame announcers, who manage to make Chip and Joe sound well-informed, restrained, and neutral. **** MLB's receivership of the Expos. **** Jeff Loria, Bud Selig, and everyone else involved. **** Bryce Harper's daily deliveries of whey protein and hair product. **** Adam LaRoche's ADD, Ryan Zimmerman's shoulder, Tyler Clippard's astigmatism, and that dolorous dick Rafael Soriano.

Let's win.

Bethancourt would be behind the plate if Fredi knew how to win. Laird should be the emergency catcher from this point forth.

So much for Gattis starting nearly every game forward like Fredi claimed. I guess it was too much to start him the day after an off day.

Sorry, been absent a lot....which will make a few people happy here...I agree it is hard to get into it. I know they have a great chance at the playoffs, but this team, something is wrong with it, we have stars, JHey, Freddie, Upton, Simba on defense and folklore hero the Bear, but something is seriously lacking. Not Braves baseball to me. Maybe it is the pitching, we were so blessed with it for so long, even last year, but this year, bland.

Am I right or just talking out of my ass?
