GDT: Braves @ Dodgers (NLDS Game 4, October 7, 2013)

You ask Kimbrel to come in and get the harder outs. Here they happened to be in the 8th. You then reassess the situation for the 9th. You can't win unless you get outs without giving up runs. If he can't go the 9th then you figure it out with another pitcher but at least you're facing the bottom of the order. Puig and to a lesser extent Uribe were the guys that needed more attention. Kimbrel should have been in for the 8th.

Then the manager would be criticized for asking him to do something he's never done before.

He can't win.

People love to place blame on other people.

Bringing in Kimbrel to pitch 2 innings is dumb. He would be gassed in the 9th and wore out for the next game. Besides, he can hang a slider as well as anyone. Carpenter's fastball is almost as good anyway. For some unknown reason he just threw a really, really bad, and dumb, pitch. And McCann let him do it, perhaps even called for it. What an epic fail.

You have to get to the nxt game and there would be an off day tomorrow, correct?

Dumbest ****ing thing in the world. If he can do four, six would be seven or eight pitches more, if that. In the end, the decision/play that cost us the game (and ultimately the series) was made by Fredi.

I actually started laughing when I heard him say it.

TWO ****ING INNINGS. When was the last time he pitched. Elimination mean now or never. Apparently never is Fredi's mantra.

Fredi's still a relatively inexperienced manager. Bobby wasn't the best when he first started. This sucks yeah, but if we're going to stay with Fredi, I can't think of any better learning experiences than these playoff games when it counts.
