Called Up to the Major Leagues
Someone on Twitter posted a clip with all the inside park homers by a Phillies player. More than a couple were the same thing that happened Saturday in the same park. And in those clips, the RF was nowhere to be found.
Stop trying to compare your little league fundamentals with professional athletes. News flash: major leaguers don't practice the alligator, don't run full speed on come backers to the mound or grounders to first, and they don't always catch pop ups with 2 hands either.
I didnt see the situation Acuna was most recently accused of dogging, but we all are or should be aware that this isnt the first time he has been chastised for loafing or other definitions of less than expected ML level of play.
FWIW, in 1956 (before you or lots of other posters here were born) I was taught be a MLB player, does PawPaw Maxwell ring a bell) that if you are an OFer you catch every flyball possible with two hands at your throwing shoulder. His explanation at the time and still relevent IMO "a fast runner can cover 12 to 18 feet at full speed while you are transfering the ball from your off shoulder to your throwing side.
Further, I dont know about today but I can assure you that in the 50's and early 60's Latino players were not taught the same game that us white kids (obvious racists).
