Not today.

I'm sure it's already been mentioned, but strange to see us in 1st place with a season RD of 0.

It has been a strange season. Not sure if this road trip is a turnaround. I think most of the past 4 games is the Phillies team being dead in the water.

The pitching looks a bit stronger lately. Santana's last couple starts are encouraging. Wood's start was great. And Simmons has been terrific in the pen. Jaime was very good too while he was up.

Seeing how old and decrepit the Phillies' core now is, really makes my boner for Chipper grow even more. He may have missed 25 games a year later on, but he was still one of the best players in the game. And that was really only when he was in his late 30s. These Phillies players are still early to mid-30s.

Utley is still very good, Lee was well.

Some of the others though...

I feel a little bad for Hamels, gotta waste his prime while they rebuild.

I actually haven't hated it at all. I think he's like 3-12 in the series, but with a couple big hits and a couple walks. I'll take it... he's obviously doing something right.

Need Freeman and JUP to continue their good work, hopefully Evan is back healthy soon. We do need Heyward to actually get hits. He's walking a lot, but hitting is good. lol

Which is why having a good walk rate is important. The hits aren't always going to fall but if you can take your walks your still helping the team and your stats won't plumet.

I wouldn't feel that bad. He's getting paid a ton to be there and he had the chance to get out.

MLB Network continues to ride Washington's jock strap. Unbelievable what ONE good season where every single thing went right will do.

This post is in response to the grumps about our current record... Medlen, Beach and Floyd. Those are three pretty damn solid starters right there. We have had three good starters go out due to injury for the entire season before the all star break. Any other team in MLB in a similar situation wouldn't even be completing right now.

I have to give a shout out to Dalyn who constantly preached the importance of starting pitching depth. Well that's come to fruition for the Braves this season. Really, we should be out of it already.
