Let's see if we have better luck tonight

Mallex rides the pine after his 2 HR game.

We should be finding out now if he can hit lefties.

Hmm, this is exactly how Fredi would have lined them up. Platooning Mallex during the season they need to decide whether or not he is an everyday player is moronic.

Yet Inciarte with his proven platoon slits vs LHers is starting.

Maybe Fredi wasn't responsible for moves like this.

Also strange that Beckham is sitting after getting three hits last night. Chase D'Arnaud must be really showing something during batting practice.

On the positive side of the ledger, Aybar at second. I wonder if Fredi resisted this idea.

Again, hoping this is just Snitker trying to figure out what each guy will give him. But yes, Mallex needs to be starting every day. And if Beckham is the hot hand, he needs to be somewhere in the lineup on a daily basis

Snit managed to bunch 3 consecutive lefties and 5 consecutive righties (counting the switch hitting Aybar). Not a fan.

I think Snitker is doing a lot of the things Fredi did (e.g. batting Mallex 9th and sitting him against lefties) to not disrespect Fredi. If he comes in and changes things immediately it would appear he was condemning what Fredi was doing. Fredi was well liked and will still get deference in the organization.

On the other hand he plays Aybar at second. Maybe he is allowing himself a quota of one non-Fredi move per game. That would balance the need to be respectful with the need for change.

The Elliot Johnson tweets after Fredi was fired suggested that how certain players are played and who's played is more FO than manager. But the manager does seem to get to decide who hits where in the line-up, how the bullpen is used, etc.

I'm also pretty certain when the FO gave Snitker the job these are the things they demanded to see.

If they demanded to see Francoeur platoon with Mallex the day after hits 2 HRs the Braves are in worse trouble than we thought, and Fredi was the least of their problems.

Send 'Em Home Snitker was a bad 3B coach so I don't know why anyone would think he'd be a decent manager.

Did anyone here actually think that? The Bowman article seems to suggest the FO chose him because they wanted more an interim manager now and didn't consider others they considered more permanent if hired. I am not saying I agree with that way of looking at it, just saying that is what we're being told.

There was a moment in last night's game where people were concerned Mallex might have gotten hurt. Maybe he's out today as precautionary for whatever that was, that perhaps he is hurting a bit.

Mallex got hit in the nads and was uncomfortable for a little bit. He's not missing the game tonight because of that though.

Pretty sure Snitker was given the interim job as a thank you for his 40 years of service to the organization.
