GDT : Braves vs Reds game 2

The monkey is off the back. Feels good to win a series. I'm 29 years old. I remember getting called to the principals office in 3rd grade to receive a note that my dad called and Chipper hit a 3 run homer to give the Braves the lead against Houston off Billy Wagner in game 1...never could have imagined it would take this long to win a series again

Congrats to the team on finally getting it done. Its been a nice 3-year run to date and this one is well deserved.

Also feels good to send another team packing. Love the Ozuna showmanship. If Reds are going to open up that playbook feels good to dish it back...

Also didn't like seeing Matzek say their players were smack talking him during the game. Pce cinci hope you enjoyed not scoring this post season.

No. There is no reseeding this year. We’re in the Houston bracket until the NLCS.

LOL, Bauer will go where he thinks is best. Probably whoever gives him the most money though.

He’s good but he’s a bit of a drama queen. I think he has mention he would like to go home to play for the Dodgers at some point...they can pay him whatever they want. Sounds like they are the favorite.

I like the idea of using Tomlin. Believe it or not he's actually started two World Series games, for Cleveland in 2016. They didn't go great, but at least he has experience.
 
So so good feeling to see the Braves finally come through in the playoffs. Fried and Anderson were spectacular. What I noticed yesterday continued today. The glare from these October day games is causing problems squaring up pitches. It wasn't until the 8th inning that the sun moved around right field enough that they could square up a couple pitches.
 
The other thing to keep in mind with Bauer is that he's never really been that good in his career. He has a career 113 ERA+, one great full season (2018), one great 70-inning stretch (this year) and otherwise a bunch of pretty meh campaigns. Teams have bet on his upside because of his former draft status and his stuff, but even if you set aside the locker room and off-field nonsense (which I don't really care about), you're talking about a soon-to-be 30-year-old pitcher with a fairly unimpressive track record. Certainly wouldn't mind having him on the team, but you wouldn't be buying a surefire ace.

We have 4 aces already. We just need a #2 to round the rotation out.
 
Special group of players. Weird to feel like I felt the monkey coming off of me with that series victory.

Future is incredibly bright. AA is a fantastic GM and I probabalu wouldn't take anyone over him right now. With that being said...draft pitching.

I don’t know about the draft pitching part. You have to look for quality either way and it takes a few years so there is no point drafting for need. Too much can change.
