GDT--Fri 3/16 vs Pirates

He was up for the better part of the second half of last season... anyways, he's taller and lankier than Furcal, and probably doesn't have the arm that Furcal has, but statistically, I'd guess they're similar players. I think Albies is a better true hitter. A better eye at the plate and a better approach.

Should hit for better average than Furcal, I agree.

Furcal probably had the better power, but it's hard to say as Albies has had surprising pop and is still really, really young.

furcal was phenomenal his first year but sort of plateaued...i think there was a birthday issue...he turned put to be a couple years older than thought

This is what happened. Doing what Furcal did at the minors at 23 is much different than doing it at 19.

Albies is a flat out stud. Sky is the limit. Guy showed big time power in game situations last year. 6 WAR player.

My realistic ceiling for Albies is prime Jose Vidro with better defense.

Albies is much faster than Vidro as well.

I still like the “Altuve before he became a power hitter” comp for Albies’ realistic ceiling....4-5 win player.

Out of curiosity - when projecting power would you say Albies has more power than Altuve at the same stage in their career? I know its not a simple linear growth model but would you project more power for Albies than he has now?

Should see more steals for sure. It's hard to pinpoint an exact clone given Albies' skillset and I don't want to go full blown thethe and mention Alomar. But if Albies reaches his ceiling he's going to be one heck of a player given his skillset.

Albies has a non zero chance of being the best at everything on the world.

maybe he has a little more maybe he has a little less....it is not gonna help you project because Altuve's development path is so exceptional

I love Albies but we are getting ahead of ourselves thinking he is the next Altuve or the next Lindor...let him make an All-star team first before bringing up those comps

I’m not getting into the Albies = Altuve debate with you again. Altuve showed more power than Albies his entire career, and represents the 99th percentile outcome for a player that size.

Nothing anyone will ever say can convince you that every Braves player isn’t destined for their top 5th Percentile outcome.
