GDT: Nits vs Braves 4/6

Most action I've seen in a one run inning in awhile. Too bad the central theme was "baserunning follies." [A little Benny Hill music please.]
 
I pray the Braves don't trade Inciarte. I could see some team coming after him at the deadline. He needs to be a permanent fixture in CF. Him, Swanson, Albies, and Freeman is a pretty nice start.

I agree, I like Smith but he might end up more 4th outfielder type or stronger at corners on defense than CF. But either way I don't see Smith being as strong defensively as Inciarte, he is Heyward special on defense and can do it at all three OF spots. Plus he hits righties well and handled a tough lefty for a change yesterday too. If he starts hitting lefties well he could be a very good player for RF or CF long-term. Markakis isn't the answer in RF either.

To sum it up, I'd keep Inciarte and Smith and follow the Royals model of great OF defense and build my offense and bullpen similar too.
 
Inciarte speed got him that hit, I knew once Murphy fielded it the way he did he'd have a hard time getting him.
