GDT: NLCS Game 3 Braves vs Dodgers

Normally I would disagree if there were another masher on the bench like Matt Adams (like a RH version of him). For this reason, I wish we had trade for someone like Todd Frazier at the deadline, but I assume money was a big isssue. The alternate option to this lineup is simply to have Flowers bat DH. I really don't think the difference offensively from Flowers to Camargo is significant enough to risk the terrible defense we will receive from Ozuna.

Why would Flowers DH? TDA would DH to rest his legs.

Bryse Wilson will start game 4.

Was easily the right choice to start instead of Ynoa. Neither is an ideal choice, but Wilson looked better in his chances in September, but bet they're just looking to get him through the order once.

How did his defense look earlier in the season? Just surprising he is considered an option, especially since he wasn't even on the roster at the end of the season.

He finished with a positive bWAR despite that batting line, if that tells you anything.

That wasn't the point of my post. The point is the alternative to starting Camargo @ 3b is to start Flowers (whether at C or DH). The offensive difference likely isn't significant enough to risk Ozuna's terrible defense in LF. May be over a larger sample size, but for 1 game, give me the better defensive set-up.

Seriously. TDA hasn’t had a day off behind the plate the entire postseason. And if this series goes 6 or 7 he will need days off.

Technically he's had several days off between series. And being the shortened season, his legs should be more fresh than if he had just caught 130 games and gone straight into the postseason.

Urias has only thrown 8 innings this post season, but is 2-0. Has a WHIP under 1, 11K's to 1 Walk. Given up 4 hits, and allowed 1 run.

To me, I wonder if he may be on some kind of innings limit/pitch count.

I read somewhere (and of course can't remember where, likely twitter), that Urias would likely be 75-85 pitches. He's really good, but has been injured a ton in the past and so still has the kid gloves on so to speak. He's not a guy that's gonna throw 110 pitches over 8 innings. If we're not into their pen by the 6th I'll be stunned

The good thing about winning every game so far is that TDA has had plenty of rest between series.

While that’s true it’s still a tough ask to possibly have a catcher catch 7 or even 6 games in 7 days. To keep his bat in the lineup it would make the most sense to move him to DH vs the 2 LHP and put the RH Flowers in for Markakis. Flowers also does great framing behind the plate.

Makes sense to limit Urias for a potential game 6 or 7 if the World Series Dodgers get that far.
He has good stuff, but I expect our boys to tag him for a couple runs early on and really ramp up the pressure on the Dodgers altogether.
