GDT: NLCS Game 3 Braves vs Dodgers

We ain’t deathly afraid of them at all. Our battered fan base clearly is, but these kids don’t know any better. All they know is kick ass.

Atlanta fans always wait for the other shoe to drop. In the last 30 years the number of times this city has been close but lost it is just traumatic. How could a city watch Kirby Puckett's homer, Jim Leyritz's homer, watch the Braves get bounced out of 9 straight post season series, see the Falcons squander a huge super bowl lead, see the Bulldogs dominate Alabama in a national title game only to watch Alabama win it with a dramatic, referee aided comeback and still be optimistic. Atlanta has been brutalized.

To be honest, I too am waiting for the other shoe to drop.

We could win the World Series and half of us here would be waiting for a memo from MLB stating we were retroactively disqualified.

A United championship feels like a kid who got cut from the football team being told at least he's still the best clarinet player in the marching band.

Hahaha - hey a trophy is a trophy! We gladly took it, and they had like 100k at the victory parade. I will say that UTD fans are amazing - I was in the house for that 2018 MLS Cup and it was just electric. Probably only thing comparable is a college football rivalry game when both teams are good

If there was a team they'd do it to, it would be Atlanta. Houston admits to straight up cheating and keeps their title. The Braves would admit to having an insufficient amount of sunflower seeds available to players and get their title taken away.

I don't doubt Atlanta United is a big deal in Atlanta. It's just pro soccer isn't as big a deal in other places. So beating those small, cash poor teams isn't as impressive as winning a title in any of the big 4 major sports (football, basketball, baseball, or hockey).
