In certain circles being anti PC is not distinguishable from being racist, homophobic and misogynist. I'm ok with public shaming of such people.

This is a matter that has little to do with Newcomb, Turner, etc.

why would every single player young enough to be on twitter in their teens not scrub their tweets by this point? it is so, so dumb.

there's not much digging to be done. it's a simple search with keywords.
newcomb is NOT the victim here.
like nscapi said, hopefully this will end up being beneficial to him - this type of thing has a chance to do that.
i'm seeing more "outrage" against the exposing of it than outrage for the words themselves.
god forbid someone bring these bad things to light.

Is anyone really outraged over the Newcomb tweets? Only reason it's in the news is to get hits on their website. I know I wouldn't have visited espn's website yesterday other than to read the story.
Now he's going to be answering the same stupid questions over and over for the next week with the reporters hoping he slips up and says something stupid so they can start all over.

Are both not an offensive term? You can be labeled a redneck simply for being born in my state. I save my outrage for more important things (miss state sports, braves, and saints lol) than dumb insults.

yeah...that occurred to me too...i'm not into PC policing...but there are a small number of terms (that for me can be counted on the fingers of one hand) that I think polite society is right to publicly shame people for...the rest I couldn't care less about

no i sense people are outraged that Newcomb is being asked (or forced in their minds) to express regret for those words
