When Warnock and Ossoff are seated, Democrats and Republicans will each control half of the seats in the Senate.

But the Democratic half will represent 41,549,808 more people than the Republican half

It’s just a matter of time before this is corrected. At that point hopefully the red portions of the country leeching off the wealth of the blue sections will secede and form their own 3rd world country.

Lincoln should have let you scum leave when you tried the first time.

While today’s terrible display of terror and meanness shakes us, let’s remember:
@ossoff
, Jewish son of an immigrant &
@ReverendWarnock
, first Black Senator from Georgia, will join a Catholic POTUS & the first woman, Black + Indian VP in our nation’s capital. God bless America
.

As a straight white male born in the US this scares me. I’m buying a MAGA hat tomorrow.

There's a Vanity Faire article that quotes congressional Republicans saying Trump threw the Georgia races to punish Mcconnell for not supporting his attempts to overturn the election and to sent himself up as the unchallenged leader of Republicans.

I believe it.

I said to a buddy leading up to the election "are we sure Trump isn't a Democrat plant". He absolutely torpedoed those elections. It makes sense it was intentional. He couldn't have been more destructive for the GOP.

I could see it too but think today ruined Trumps future chances. Hell if he gets impeached he can't run again, right?

Depends. Disqualification is a separate punishment from removal from office. You can be removed and allowed to run again.

2024 isnt realistic for Trump. He has to win now to avoid being prosecuted. Theres a very significant possibility that he will die in prison. Thats why he is going to these lengths.

I'm beginning to feel this way. I previously thought Trump legitimately believed he won. Now I'm not so sure. Things are going beyond the point of saving a bruised ego. He's getting desperate.

I really expect him to make every effort to get to a non extradition country before Joe is sworn in.

I doubt an arrest warrant will be ready to go literally the second he is out of office. Judges are act with extreme caution when it comes to big figures like Trump. My guess is they would ask him to turn himself in rather than send agents to arrest him. So I doubt he will flee the immediately. I wholeheartedly would support sending our military into whatever country he tried to do this in or outright blockading whatever country harbors him until they hand him over.

Yikes. Sending in the military to a sovereign country to try to get an alleged criminal? That's a pretty drastic step. Such things could possibly be the basis for sanctions but military action would be heinous.
