Sure, but I think some of you have set that equilibrium you’re balancing against at a pretty disturbing threshold. I’m not looking to deny that Israel has unique security needs due to their place within the region, nor am I going to claim that Hamas is anything other than an extremist group that Israel was justified in striking (repeatedly) for their horrific act of terror.
It’s just that since October 8, 2023 the casualty toll is something in the ballpark of 60,000 to 600. I truly don’t know where my line would have been for acceptable civilian casualties, but they went so far past it that it’s basically a moot point.
