Peter thiel is onto something about Google, AI and the Chinese military. FBI/CIA should put an end to that immediately.

I’m not sure how I’m supposed to have confidence in Trump to “win” a trade war when his fundamental view of the issue is backwards.

Imports are benefits and exports are costs, not the other way around.

How do you define costs?

What about job replacements?

Employer taxes paid into the system?

Peter Thiel has a lot of money tied into companies that are competitors to Google. Of course he's gonna try and slander them while Trump is in office

There cyrrency is collpasing. Banks are being nationalized.

There are signs.

The Yuan was trading at about 6.88 a month ago and is trading at 7.09 now. I wouldn't call that collapsing.

As far as banks being nationalized, how is what they're doing that different than Wells Fargo buying out regional banks?

I define costs as the valueable assets (goods or services) being traded away. They’re costs because the owner could have consumed them.

By job replacements do you mean domestic jobs lost to international trade? I don’t pay them much heed because they’re minuscule compared to the number of jobs the economy is churning each month. And I don’t put more value on a job lost to international trade than I do to those lost to any other reasons.

Not really sure what you mean by employer taxes...the taxes now not paid into the system by an employer because they’re no longer employing a worker who was laid off due to trade? I’m not concerned with that; I’m more concerned with the deadweight loss taken on by the system as a whole due to the trade barriers. Taxes are just a transfer within the system.

I respect that you disagree.

Whether the president was Obama, Trump, or Amash, I don’t have any faith in an individual(or group of individuals) with the ability to intervene in the international trade market and pull the right levers to enrich us all more than a free market can (even if that free market only exists here and not the country we’re trading with).

In barring Omar and Tlaib Netanyahu in a single act creates more publicity

and political oxygen than any visit might have; makes an Israeli PM appear to

be a tool of a US President; blackens Israel’s image; and erodes bipartisanship

critical to US-Israeli relations

This woman right here is my sity. She deserves to live in peace & with human dignity. I am who I am because of her. The decision by Israel to bar her granddaughter, a U.S. Congresswoman, is a sign of weakness b/c the truth of what is happening to Palestinians is frightening.

Tlaib was responding to remarks by Maher during a Friday night episode of his show that the BDS movement — which calls for boycott, divestment and sanctions toward the State of Israel over human rights issues — is "a bull**** purity test by people who want to appear woke but actually slept through history class." After the audience applauded his line, Maher continued that "it’s predicated on this notion, I think — it’s very shallow thinking — that the Jews in Israel, mostly white, and the Palestinians are browner, so they must be innocent and correct, and the Jews must be wrong. As if the occupation came right out of the blue, that this completely peaceful people found themselves occupied. Forget about the intifadas and the suicide bombings and the rockets and how many wars."

After reading a quote from a BDS founder which stated that "no Palestinian, rational Palestinian, not a sell-out Palestinian, would ever accept a Jewish state in Palestine." Maher argued that the movement comes from people who don't want a Jewish state at all, adding that this side doesn't get presented in the American media.

moving the US Embassy to Jerusalem --- hasn't calmed the situation ?

ask you Ace --- what happened before what happened ?
As if the Palestinians wake up one morning 70 years ago deciding an intifada was in order.

He clearly didn't think deep enough to realize that one outcome could be a global economic stall which could hurt the U.S. China is more dug in for the long game. Xi doesn't have to worry about short term elections.
