Yes, I am talking politics tonight. I know you all are kinds shocked!
My thoughts:
Ted Cruz: I thought he probably was the winner tonight. I liked how firm he was on his answers and I found myself agreeing with him the most, something I didn't think I'd do before this whole process started. I did like his answers on immigration.
Marco Rubio: I also thought he did well, though I was hoping for some more clarification on his immigration policy ideas. However, the other answers I thought were well thought-out and firm. Got his message across, which is what you have to do. His line about needing more welders than philosophers was real good.
Carly Fiornia: I don't think she has much of a chance to get the nomination, but she is a very sharp lady. She's not an empty suit, or dress I guess, like Sarah Palin. Had some good responses when challenged.
Ben Carson: Had one of the best lines, thanking the moderator for not asking about his tenth grade year. I still want to see a bit more energy out of him. He didn't hurt himself too much, though I didn't care for an answer he had on foreign policy.
Jeb Bush: He didn't hurt himself too much, but he definitely didn't help himself. His answer in regards to bank bailouts (I think it was that) was wishy-washy at best. Also, where was the attacks on Rubio that we all thought were coming? Did I miss them?
Rand Paul: Bright guy to be sure, but he's not my guy. Some of his foreign policy thoughts and ideas about defense kind of worry me. That was the biggest thing that keeps me from supporting him.
John Kasich: Just get out now. He had the worst night. I don't know if it was desperation because he was the lowest rated (probably) candidate on the main stage. He had to butt in more than anyone else and his bank bailout answer bothered me greatly, and also the crowd, who loudly booed him.
Donald Trump: He continues to remind me why I am so against him as the nominee. He so full of hot air it's not funny. I'm concerned about illegal immigration too, but how are you going to kick millions of people out of this country? Be realistic. Pretty clear his favorite word is "wall".
Special booby prize goes to Ann Coulter: Even as a conservative, reading her garbage on Twitter, she drive me insane.
