Water is just about an inch from our electricity box. Power will probably go out soon. My car is underwater. About 3 feet from getting in the house.

It seems like there could be quite a potential for infrastructure building to better prepare coastal cities for storms like this that would create a lot of jobs. Not trying to make a political statement here but just pointing out an area where maybe there could be some quick agreement.

the really ****ed up thing is it will stop raining for 30 minutes then go between a light drizzle and torrential downpour for 2 hours.
I still have power by some miracle. No running water which I don't understand how we lose water from being surrounded by water.
Far too late to go anywhere but if the water drains enough to drive a vehicle we are gonna leave. Water about 2 inches from my house but it isn't currently raining. Cat is playing a life or death game of the floor is lava on the porch. If the water gets significantly in the house so we have to leave it will literally be so deep we will have to swim away. Saw someone paddle by the house with a rubber blow up boat earlier. Had to go into the waters twice to get ****. My Dad filled up gas cans for our generator because of the hurricane and put them on the floor of shed..... knowing flooding was likely....

Sounds pretty bad...do you have a route mapped out if you decide to leave...i imagine a lot of the roads are impassable

Not really. A friend who lives close by whose house is 4 feet under was evacuated and they were taking people to high ground somewhere and then busses took the to shelters. We dont plan to leave so long as we have power and there is not water in the house. When/if power does go it might be weeks before I get internet again.

This is how close it is to getting in. My house is 5 feet off the ground in a 500 year flood plain......

Theres only two things I am scared of, cops , crackheads, and running out of weed..... three things. So long as I got weed and wifi I am not choosing to go into chest high waters. Used to own a sweet pontoon boat with a generator and ****. That would be nice right about now.

step mom just called 911. our area was already on a list for evacuation. Dad doesn't want to go.
